Get Tokematic.
It counts what you're burning and stays out of the way. macOS has a native menu bar app, while Ubuntu Linux and Windows have background collectors ready for server and desktop workflows.
macOS
Native menu bar app. Signed & notarised.
Free local tracking starts here.
Windows
Headless background collector.
Requires Pro. Native GUI will start free.
Ubuntu Linux
Headless systemd collector.
Zero knowledge. Requires Pro.
Background usage collectors for Ubuntu Linux and Windows monitor Claude Code and Codex sessions on servers and workstations. Both headless collectors require an active Tokematic Pro account to pair and sync token metrics with your hosted dashboard.
The Windows collector is an interim stop-gap shim while the native Windows GUI application is in active development. When the native Windows GUI application launches, basic local tracking will not require a Pro account, matching the free offline experience on macOS.
